The 4 times table trick
Double it, then double again.
- Double it: 4 × 6 starts with 12.
- Double again: 12 + 12 = 24.
Examples
- 4 × 6: 6 → 12 → 24
- 4 × 9: 9 → 18 → 36
Why it works
4 is 2 × 2, so multiplying by 4 is multiplying by 2 twice.

How do I learn the 4 times table fast?
If you know the 2s, you know the 4s: double the 2s answer. 2 × 7 = 14, so 4 × 7 = 28.
