The 2 times table trick
Double the number.
- Double it: 2 × 8 is 8 + 8 = 16.
Examples
- 2 × 8: 8 + 8 = 16
- 2 × 12: 12 + 12 = 24
Why it works
Multiplying by 2 means two groups of the number, which is the number added to itself.
